Rancho Mirage

Discover the community

In 1924 Los Angeles developers purchased several 100 acres and sub-divided them into 10 acre farms.  In 1934 lots were sold and homes were built and they called the area "Rancho Mirage."  Hollywood celebrities such as Bob Home, Randolph Scott, Philterris, Desi Arnez, and Ralph Isiner invested in the first 18 hole golf course in the Coachella Valley, Thunderbird Country Club opening up in 1951.  Rancho Mirage was the home to the late president Gerald Ford. Population 18,537.

Similar to the nearby desert cities, Rancho Mirage offers a chill vibe.  With numerous country clubs and hiking and biking trails. Beautiful mountain views and numerous activities make this a great destination for visitors and those seeking a quieter lifestyle.
